Youth News

1. Southern Christian Home: Thank you church for providing the gifts for the children at Southern Christian Home! All of the gifts were so thoughtful and done so well! And thanks to all who made the trip to Morrilton to spend time with the children there. These trips are such a blessing to all who participate! Thank you Poteau Church of Christ! God is so good. 2. "Winterfest" Youth Conference at the Arlington Con-vention Center Arlington, TX . Dates are January 13-15, 2017. Cost: is $75.00 dollars for fees, lodging, meals and T-Shirt. You will need to bring at least an additional $20 for two meals on your own and snacks/souvenirs. Commit: Please don't wait to commit. It's a big trip and I need everyone to sign up and commit now so I know ex-actly how many for transportation and lodging. Chaperones: We definitely need a lot of adult chaper-ones who want to serve and have a heart for the stu-dents. Out of School! We ask that all going to Winterfest get out of school that Friday so we can meet no later than 10am Friday morning January 13th at the Poteau Church of Christ building parking lot. Departure: Friday morning at 10:30AM from the Poteau Church of Christ Parking Lot! Meet at 10AM! Return: Somewhere between 3-6pm on Sunday after-noon/early evening. Please inform your parents/guardians to keep their phones on and to be ready to pick you up at the church building. We will have everyone call when we know better the estimated time we will make it back to the church building that Sunday. What to bring: 1. Clothes for Friday, Saturday and Sunday (A Winterfest T-Shirt will be provided to each person who attends) 2. All your bathroom “get ready” items. You will NOT need bedding or towels for this trip unless you want to bring your own pillow or if you would rather sleep on the floor. 3. Some extra spending money for snacks and maybe at least two meals on the road. I recommend at least $20. 4. Modest swim suit. I ask that all with our group wear a colored t-shirt and pair of shorts if you decide to go down to the hot tub. Come by and visit, or listen to us on the internet, or call Mary at 918–647–4873 and request the sermon cd's.

“Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,"
Phil 2:14-15

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Matt 5:14-16

Let's let our lights shine!
